Glass molds generally take less time to cool down enabling a smoother finish and have got a rare sticky nature. They are prone to scratches, cracks and involve delicacy leading to frequent breakage.
Metal molds are famous for their longer life periods. There has to be some special actions taken while using this mould. A metal candle spray is recommended that comes with a store bought silicone mold release spray as they have a sticky nature. The silicone is sprayed on the inner and outer walls to prevent rusting of the metal.
Aluminum molds are better known for their durability. They have got various shapes and sizes and the process of cooling at the end is not needed here.
Rubber candle molds offer better flexibility and help in giving intricate designs. They require greater attention while the process of cooling takes place. There are higher chances for the material to get distorted during the cooling process. They do not leave behind any awkward finishes or designs and are the most sought as they can afford to various designs.
Plastic mold is the cheapest material available and gives a rigid property. Due to this nature, intricate designs are not possible with this kind of candle molds. However, they can be used by recycling property without wasting the materials. A beginner can employ this kind of materials as they are easy to handle.
Rigid molds are obtained from glass, metal or plastic and are useful in generating any kind of shapes. Irregular shapes can be easily made from them.
Latex molds are being preferred by many people as they are relatively inexpensive. Their versatile nature enables to bring out any form of shapes and sizes. More complex shapes can be obtained as it is very stretchable.
